I get together almost every week with a group of moms and their kids for the kiddos to play and us to talk and share our lives. It has become an even bigger group than this photo in the last couple of months, but in December, this was the core group!
Every few months we get together in the evening and just hang out without kids. Sometimes we dress up and go out, but for Christmas we decided to have a potluck dinner at my house. Very low key, but nice! Chris took Finn out to dinner then just stayed safe from all the estrogen upstairs.

Complete with beautiful wine glasses I borrowed from Chris's mom and plates that she had given to me years ago that I finally had a reason to use!
We were planning on going out to a coffee place after dinner to enjoy music and have dessert, but it was so relaxing at my house that we all just stayed there and drank eggnog and apple cider. What was funny was that it was so quiet at some points throughout the evening that it freaked us out (no yelling kids!) that we had to turn on some Christmas music to fill the silence!
