Vaccines (Bah Humbug!)

With a little one, you come up the question of vaccines. There is a lot of scary stories out there, but most parents also want to have their children protected and help eradicate some very bad diseases from our country.

For us, we found a lot of help and answers from Dr. Robert Sears' new book, simply entitled, "The Vaccine Book." It is a clear, simple to read and straight forward look at each vaccine, the disease they are made to prevent and the risks of each scenario (getting vaccinated or not) for each one. With a little humor and a lot of understanding of parents who want to thoroughly research what goes into their children, Dr. Sears presents up to date information that helps a parent make their own best choices.

I know this sounds like a plug, and it is, (although I didn't get any compensation for it...), but we really felt like we had all the information we needed to make an altered vaccine schedule for our child and help him get vaccinated on our terms, taking into consideration our family health history and my ability to take him in for appointments.

You can find the book at http://www.barnesandnoble.com/ for about $15.00
