Christmas morning we awoke leisurely (nice that he's young still, eh?) and opened presents that we had got for eachother only.
With some help and coaxing, Finn opened his new Bible first and then proceeded to run around the house with it and become uninterested in anything else.
He did finally open his new pillow that we got for him to cuddle on (so he doesn't have to use bags and other less soft things). He does seem to really like it, as he rubs his face on it and, since he is small enough, he just sits right in the middle of it and "reads" his books.

Finn and Chris examining Chris's gift, a keyboard! He can now reignite that old fire for the piano that caused him to take lessons for four years when he was young. (Hopefully bypassing the desire that made him later quit said lessons in exchange for basketball)

Chris taunting Finn with a wooden airplane that Bob and Linda got for Finn. Just kidding. He was taking the sticker off it. :)

Finn in his new hat from his Great Aunt Marcia next to his uncle Kenny, who came over with my mom for Christmas brunch.

Chris and Finn in his new hat AND scarf. He actually next opened a sweater too, and socks later also! Wow!!

Me in my new snazzy homemade scarf that I actually didn't make myself! It's great!

Slipper socks for Chris and myself too. Soooo cozy.

For dinner, tri-tip (easier than I thought it would be!) with mashed potatoes and brussel sprouts. For dessert, pumpkin pie and a Happy Birthday song to Jesus! What a great chance to celebrate that crazy, beautiful day when the Maker of the heavens was born into our dark world to give us the Light of Salvation.
Blessed be the Lord God of Israel,
For He has visited us and accomplished redemption for His people,
And has raised up a horn of salvation for us
To give to His people the knowledge of salvation
By the forgiveness of their sins,
Because of the tender mercy of our God,
With which the Sunrise from on high will visit us,
TO SHINE UPON THOSE WHO SIT IN DARKNESS AND THE SHADOW OF DEATH,
To guide our feet into the way of peace."
